FOCUS Support team, Global Partner Support team, and Compassion Support team
At Stromlo we want to be generously supporting gospel ministry in other places. For each of the main gospel ministries we support we have a team to assist us providing this support.
Locally we are committed to supporting the ministry of FOCUS at ANU, Uni of Canberra, and at ADFA. University ministry is strategically important in God’s Kingdom and a ministry that only exists because of the financial generosity of local churches.
Beyond our local region we currently support Global Partners in prayer and encourage people at Stromlo to support our Global Partners with prayer, care, and finances. Stromlo has undertaken to support two missionary families: Klaus and Jude Hickel in Germany, and Phil and Lil in West Asia.
We also support the poor and needy in the word through Compassion. Compassion is a Christian organisation, which aims to care for both the physical and spiritual needs of children. Through Compassion, Stromlo has partnered with three churches on Bohol Island in the Philippines, sponsoring over 60 children in these programs.
The aim of the Compassion support team is to engage the church in our partnership with these Filipino churches, following the New Testament example of churches supporting each other in prayer and other forms of practical assistance. The team is responsible for organising and supporting events at Stromlo (including an upcoming Stromlo trip to meet the Filipino churches), facilitating support and child sponsorship, and liaising with Compassion.
